What do you think comes next? Does that opinion determine your current actions or do you live for the moment? It’s hard to get an idea of the big picture when we get caught up in the daily grind of things. However, things are changing; technology is advancing quickly, our eco-system is getting out of balance, and space exploration is becoming a priority again.

What does this mean for us? It’s interesting that business has become more important than long-term sustainability. Profits have outweighed a care for future generations and what they may have to deal with to ensure continuation of survival. It doesn’t take much research to find the extensive damage done to natural environments - not only are the homes of animals destroyed, but those same environments help produce fresh air and oxygen for us.

Is a short-term gain of profit worth destroying our own habitat just because we don’t think that we’ll be around when things ultimately fall apart? This world isn’t going to last forever, but we have a duty to take care of what little we have instead of exploiting the environment for a man-made commodity such as currency. However the temporary pleasures and quick gains to be had may get the better of those who have a say in business transactions that directly affect the environment.

The lack of respect maintained by major businesses that have a moral disregard of consequences is appalling. This life, the world, and the place in which we live is not only the home to our existence but the generations to come are constantly being put in jeopardy by our actions. People as of lately, are finally take note of it, but how much do they care? Documentaries have long informed us of the current destruction we are causing. Some of the reports may be a bit out-of-proportion, but in conclusion, we can all agree that things are getting worse, not better.

If life is meaningless, then let it be. We’d be nothing more than a bunch of molecules getting upset over a futile cause. However, life does have meaning. This life is not just a random, microscopic bit of nothing. The divine complexity of our beings cry out for a meaning beyond what our limited minds can understand from the sciences. We may understand why things function but we cannot determine their cause.

What drives your motives and what do you think comes next? While life is beautiful, it is temporary. It won’t last forever, but we’re responsible to take care of what we’ve been given. What can you do to make the most of your time, right here, and right now? Is this a beautiful life or just a random piece of nothing?
