A Pathway Taken

“The grass is always greener on the other side” is a familiar expression – and this may be very true if we doubt our path. We are all capable of deciding how we choose to think of the world around us. We all, inevitably, need to make choices on how we live our lives. It’s impossible to live life without making choices, either consciously or unconsciously.
Life isn’t clear-cut and easy all the time. Often, there are many roads that may be taken to lead to the same place. As long as a clear goal and set of standards are lived by, there isn’t a wrong path that will take you to your destination. As they say – if one door shuts, then look for one that’s opened. Living in integrity, with a clear goal in mind is the key to avoiding confusion. Life will throw troubles in your face and turn you around. It’s easy to give up if there’s not a full investment in seeing the path through.
We don’t see what other people deal with – we often see what they want us to see. Additionally, most people don’t want you to know what kind of struggles or insecurities they have, so we can’t properly gauge where they are internally. It’s important to avoid comparing our life’s difficulties or blessings to others. We will likely be coming from an inaccurate perspective in trying to understand them. Many people work hard for the blessings they have, and while we may see the rewards they’ve gained for themselves, we usually don’t see the hard work that they’ve put in to achieve that success.
A pathway taken is set for success when it’s based on intrinsic purposes and beliefs. We may get frustrated with trials that come, but troubles should be expected. It doesn’t mean that we’re doing something wrong – difficult times are how we learn to become stronger and better. If we’re always living to have fun, party, and be careless, than we are stunting opportunities to become stronger and more useful people.
However, many people believe that life is pointless. If life were pointless, then perhaps it would be best to just party and not take anything seriously. There wouldn’t be any reason to be stronger, better, or smarter if we all just died and the end of our story is complete. What do you believe and why is the road you take important to you? Perhaps there is something within our souls that feels as if we were made to last forever - something that encourages us despite the face of inevitable death. What keeps us motivated, discerning, and proactive?
