Time is always moving forward – we are never defined by a single moment. Even if we have been living by a certain lifestyle for an extended period of time, we still have a chance to turn our lives around and following a new direction. We often live our lives as if we are waiting upon a moment or an event to happen – and by doing so, hoping that the moment we wait for will bring us a sense of contentment or peace we can rest in.

The blessing is that we can experience joyful moments repeatedly, and that moments of discomfort, pain, and sorrow are temporary. The curse is that we can’t hang on to laughter or the pleasant feelings of a single moment forever. Those moments simply dissolve and pass behind us, always moving farther away. It’s impossible to find peace when we seek out pleasure and live to be happy - simply because we can’t always feel good and happy.

This shouldn’t be depressing but it can be upsetting at times. Even though moments of depression feel terrible and seems as if there are no benefits to be gained, we becoming stronger, wiser, and deeper in character if we can allow ourselves to learn. Never learning from our history is a cause for repeated failure in our future endeavors.

We can’t dwell on the past but we do need to learn from it - or we will find ourselves blindly indulging in our mistakes. Mistakes aren’t meant to keep us in shame. Mistakes are actions we choose due to a lack of understanding. We can have all the knowledge of the world at our fingertips, but unless we understand the knowledge, it’s completely useless.

So where do we gain knowledge from in a sea of confusion? We look at movies, TV shows, actors, and we feel like the confidence shown there may somehow provide us with the answers. Commercials make life look complete and perfect. Books feed our imagination and satiate our creative desires. However, all is lost or a complete charade without God at the center of it.

Allowing God to put down the roots of understanding in our lives brings us to a place of understanding. The mention of God may produce an adverse reaction - simply because many believe that Christians are hypocrites, or that God is unfair. Not everyone who claims to be a Christian always follows the Bible diligently. To make an otherwise long blog shorter - we simply need guidelines and understanding in order to life properly. There’s much to be said of this world we live in and God’s hand – however I hope your curiosity in truth and the mystery of life is further deepened. Search for truth and never stop~
